Glenn E. Vold, 82, of Baxter, died at his home surrounded by family on Thursday, February 22, 2018. Glenn’s memorial service will be Monday, February 26, at 2 pm, at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Friends may visit during the hour prior to the service.

Glenn was born on April 10, 1935 in Osseo, WI to Edwin and Gladys (Islum) Vold. He graduated from Osseo High School in 1953. He entered the United States Army in February, 1954 and served until January, 1956. Glenn was married to Donna Stellingwerf on April 13, 1957. He worked for Montgomery Wards in the automotive department for many years, starting in Eau Claire, WI. He then went on to manage that department in Aberdeen, SD, transferring to the Brainerd Lakes Area in 1972, where Glenn retired from his management position at the age of 58. After retiring, Glenn worked at Lakeland Veterinary Hospital in Baxter, MN as a part time maintenance and handy man for 20 plus years. He really enjoyed working there, as they were a 2nd family to him and they appreciated his hard work and wonderful attitude. He retired from there in November of 2017. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards and fishing. Glenn loved taking trips to the casino and taking care of his garden. He also was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and helping others.

Glenn is survived by his children, Tammy (Tom) Klein of Merrifield, Jeff (Roxanne) Vold of Shafer, MN, and Brad (Sharon) Vold of Little Falls, MN; grandchildren, Jennifer (Bucky), Jason (Nicole), Jessie (Richard), Collin (Lora), Brianne (Jared), Kacie (Aaron), Cole, Collin, Cody (Alana), Briana (Brad), Jared (Jacque-significant other), Megan (Sklyer), Amber (Derek); and nineteen great-grandchildren; sister, Darlene Fischer of Waterloo, IA; and brothers-in-law, Darrell (Judy) Stellingwerf of South Beloit, IL, and Don Blom of Madison, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Gladys; wife, Donna; infant son; brothers, Stanley “Bud” Vold and Ronald Vold; and great-granddaughter, Grace Dauer.
