Glenn Otteson

Glenn M. Otteson, 89, Pine River, died Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at Whispering Pines Good Samaritan Village in Pine River. In accordance with Glenns wishes no services will be held at this time. Interment with full military honors will be at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Little Falls at a later date.
Glenn was born March 10, 1918 in Humboldt, Iowa, to Peter and Bertha (Olson) Otteson. He was raised on a farm north of Olivia. After graduating from high school he served in the Air Force. During his military service he was united in marriage to Gwen Ruebel. They moved to Glencoe, where they raised their children; Glenn owned and worked in the OMO auto garage. He served on the hospital board and helped develop the golf course. After their children were grown Glenn and Gwen moved to Backus, where he lived for the past thirty-five years. Glenn worked as a realtor in Hackensack, Pine River, and Walker until well into his 80s. Glenn and Gwen loved to travel, and worked as National Park Service volunteers in Texan and Alaska. He was widowed two years ago when Gwen passed away. Glenn was meticulous in maintaining his yard, his vehicles, and his equipment. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends.

Glenn is survived by his children, Gary Otteson, Philadelphia, PA, Gregg (Amanda) Otteson, Backus, Gene Otteson, Backus, Gail (Michael) Otteson-Goldberg, Grand Rapids, and Grant Otteson, Bloomington; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.
