Glen Peterson, 76, of Brainerd, MN died on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at his home. Services for Glen will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN from 4:00PM-7:00PM with a short service beginning at 7:00PM.
Glen was born on October 31, 1939 in Brainerd, MN to Herman and Sandra (Ylinen) Peterson. He worked briefly on a ranch in Montana before hauling cattle out of the St. Paul Stock Yards. Glen went on to become a welder before eventually working as a boiler maker for fifty years. Glen worked throughout the United States, living where the jobs took him. After retiring at age 60, he and Darlene made several trips to Alaska, where he enjoyed salmon fishing. Glen and Darlene also wintered in Arizona where he enjoyed mining for gold. He designed and developed a gold dry wash machine. Glen enjoyed hunting, fishing, horses, gold mining and hard work.
Glen will be sadly missed by his wife, Darlene of Brainerd, MN; children, Bartley (Dottie) Peterson of Claremont, MN, Brenda (Robert) Anderson of Brainerd, MN, Brett (Kelly) Peterson of Brainerd, MN, and Bryon (Mata) Peterson of Fergus Falls, MN; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and siblings, Kathryn Caughey of Brainerd, MN, Doris Holtz of Brainerd, MN, Gary (Cathy) Peterson of Baxter, MN, Betty (Robert) Howell of Omaha, NB, and David (Bonnie) Peterson of Brainerd, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Sandra; children, Bernadine Pierzinski and Barry Peterson; grandson, Derrick Pierzinski; and brother, Richard Peterson. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
