Gladys Miller

Gladys (Sally) Miller of Manhattan Beach, Minnesota, passed away on August 15, 2013, at Essential Health - St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd, Minnesota.

Gladys Sahlmark was born August 27, 1915, in Ludington, Michigan, the daughter of Joseph and Esther Sahlmark. Gladys was an avid golfer. Her dad was the men's champion of their golf club, and Gladys was the women's club champion at age 14. After graduating from Ludington High School, she attended and graduated from Augustana School of Nursing in Chicago, Illinois. Following graduation she did both hospital and industrial nursing.

She was married to Donald B. Miller Sr. May 6, 1940. They live in Ironwood, Michigan, from 1944 to 1969 where they owned and operated the Nyberg - Miller Funeral Home. They retired in Crosslake Minnesota, and lived there until 1983, when they moved to Manhattan Beach, Minnesota. She and her husband were members of the Crosslake Lutheran Church.

Gladys is survived by three sons: Dr. Donald B. Miller Jr. of Prescott, Arizona; Dr. Ronald G. Miller of Savannah, Georgia; Mark J. Miller of Savannah, one daughter Debra Miller of Minneapolis, Minnesota; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Her husband Donald B Miller Senior, 2 sisters, and one brother preceded her in death.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday August 19, 2013, at Crosslake Lutheran Church in Crosslake, Minnesota. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to services. Interment will be at Pinewood Cemetery.
