Gilbert Zupon

Gilbert Zupon, age 92, of Pequot Lakes, went to Heaven on Monday, February 24, 2014. He was born to George and Elizabeth Zupon on April 11, 1921, in St. Cloud. Gilbert was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Dorothy Petersen on September 13, 1963. They farmed in rural Pequot Lakes until the early 1980's. Gilbert was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, the Jenkins VFW and Pequot Lakes American Legion. He was a sweet, caring, loving man.

Gilbert is survived by his daughters: Carol Thurston (Mike), Patricia Blake, Linda Tima (Tony), Debbie Martin (Roger); 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sisters: Eleanor Cash, Dorothy Heino; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy; grandson, Brian; great grandson, Jaiden; brothers: Martin, Walter, Albert; sisters: Irene Crimmins and Mary Warren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM on Tuesday, March 4, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Pine River. Visitation will be 5 to 7 PM on Monday at Kline Funeral Home, Pine River, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Pine River.
