Gilbert Hanson

Gilbert Hanson, 94, of Pine River died Thursday, May 1 at Bethany Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd. Gilbert was born April 18, 1909 in Hopkins, to Embert and Mamie (Nugent) Hanson. He grew up in Minneapolis. He was united in marriage to Ann Dody on March 30, 1934. He worked for Baldwin Supply in Minneapolis for 25 years. He moved to Pine River in 1999 to be closer to the family. Gilbert enjoyed cars, fishing and guns.
Gilbert is survived by a daughter, Lois K. Melchert of St. Petes, FL; 2 sons, James (Jane) Hanson of Pillager, Ronald (Joyce) Hanson of Crosby; 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. His wife, parents and a brother Marvel preceded him in death.

Memorial services will Saturday, May 10, 1:30 PM at Bethany Good Samaritan Village Chapel with Reverend Gary Peterson officiating. Visitation is 1 hour before. Memorials are preferred to Bethany Good Samaritan Village. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter.
