Gevynne Olson

Gevynne Olson, age 66, of Baxter died Thursday, March 30, 2006 at Woodland Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd. Memorial services will be Thursday, April 6, at 11 am, at Zion Lutheran Church in Brainerd, with Reverend Paul Biegner officiating. Friends may visit at the church during the hour prior to services. Burial will be in McIntosh at a later date.
Gevynne Ardell Olson was born September 8, 1939 in Fosston, to Hjalmer and Sophie (Egeland) Olson. She grew up in McIntosh. She was united in marriage to LaVern Evenmo in November of 1957. Gevynne cared for her family as a homemaker. Although she and LaVern were divorced in later years, they remained companions and friends. She built and new home in Baxter in 2004 and moved here to be near her family. Gevynne was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Baxter. She enjoyed bible study and the many friends she made there. She liked to sew, garden, and decorate. Most of all, she loved spending time with her daughter Cheryl and Cheryls family.

Gevynne is survived by her children, Mike Evenmo, Minneapolis, Caryn Evenmo, Minneapolis, Sandy Evenmo, St. Paul, Mark (Liz) Evenmo, Anoka, and Cheryl (Mark) Hotzler, Baxter; a brother, Gerald Olson, McIntosh; twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a granddaughter.
