Geraldine Wilmes

Geraldine E. Wilmes, 74, of Merrifield passed away at her home on Tuesday, November 2, 2010. Private Services.

Geraldine Wirtz was born on March 7, 1936 in Minneapolis, MN the daughter of William and Margaret (Schroeder) Wirtz. After graduating from the College of St. Catherine's with a Nursing Degree, she married John Wilmes on June 7, 1958. She worked for St. Mary's Hospital, the Osseo School District and Group Health before retirement. During their retirement they enjoyed the winters in Arizona and Merrifield in the warmer months. She enjoyed quilting, tennis, and crafts in her spare time. Geraldine was an amazing woman and was dedicated to her family and loved having them all around her.

Geraldine is preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 52 years John; children, Mike (Roxanne), Steve, and John (Vickie); grandchildren, Tom, Ben, Matt, Bobbi, John, Jeff, Jacob, Joe, Jack, and Jenna; sister, Marilyn Wirtz; brother, Leonard (Helen) Wirtz; and many nieces and nephews.
