Gerald Naas

Gerald Stuart Naas, age 67, of Longville, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2009. He was born March 19, 1942, in Detroit, MI, to Earl and Margaret Naas. Jerry married Joanne Fuchs on July 1, 1967 in Faribault, MN. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1962 to 1966. Jerry was employed by Carrier Air Conditioning Company, Powers Regulator Company and Xcel Energy. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Backus, where he served as chairman and vice chairman, adult Bible study leader, and usher. He enjoyed fishing and carpentry work.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Joanne; sons: Daniel Naas of Plymouth, Peter Naas of South Minneapolis; brother, Earl Naas (Penne`) of Gaylord, MI; other relative and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be 10:30 AM on Wednesday, October 14, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Backus, with Pastor Ronald Carnicom officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 PM at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Burial will be in Minnesota State Veteran's Cemetery at Camp Ripley.
