Gerald Luther

Gerald W. "Jerry" Luther, 68, of Brainerd, passed away Thursday, October 14, 2010 at Good Samaritan Village - Bethany. Services will be held at 11:00AM, Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Family and friends are welcome to gather from 5-7 PM, Monday evening and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Reception will follow services. Interment will take place at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

Jerry was born September 3, 1942, in Brainerd, MN, the son of Hubert and Martha (Luepker) Luther. He started an apprenticeship in plumbing during his 11th grade year of high school and continued in the profession for over 37 years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and a retired member of Plumbing Local # 11 of Detroit Lakes. Jerry enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, camping and loved to bowl. He liked to make his own tackle. He also was an avid guitarist.

He will be missed by his children, Audra (Lee) Wilson, of Wichita, KS and Delon Luther and fiancé, Tatiana Teachout, of Fort Ripley; his grandchildren, Jasmine, Desmond, and Danielle; and his siblings, Martin Luther, of Brainerd, Dorothy Peterson, of Coos Bay, OR, and Minna (James) Wallin, of Brainerd. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Erwin.
