Gerald Dwaine Kiehlbauch, 86, Brainerd, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2020 at Bethany Good Samaritan. Services will be Tuesday, June, 23, 2020 at 11:00 am at Zion Lutheran Church in Brainerd, led by Reverend Steven Benson with visitation 1 hour prior to service at the church. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Brainerd.
Gerald was born October 11, 1933, in Zap, ND, to Gottlieb and Lydia (Weigum) Kiehlbauch. He married Edna Carter on June 29, 1953, in Walker, MN. He served in the US Army from 1953 – 1955. He worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad as a telegrapher before going to work for Northwest Paper Company (Potlatch) in 1959, where he retired in 1995. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Brainerd and a member of the American Legion Post 255.
Gerald is survived by his children, GeRae Kiehlbauch, Brainerd; Debbie (Jeff) Hines, Hackensack; Kevin (Dianna) Kiehlbauch, Brainerd; and Mark (Cheryl) Kiehlbauch, Centennial, CO; 10 grandchildren, Jamie Deering, St. Cloud; Mike Hines, Pine River; Jeremy (Charlotte) Hines, Hackensack; Jenny Kiehlbauch, Brainerd; Jessica (Steve) Crawford, Gardner, KS; Joni (Matt) Carlson, Aitkin; Abi Kiehlbauch, Brainerd; Alli Kiehlbauch, St. Paul; LeeAnn Kiehlbauch, Centennial, CO; Jason Kiehlbauch, Centennial, CO; and 14 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, great-granddaughter, Roseanna Crawford; great-great granddaughter Heavenly Crawford.
