Gerald 'Jerry' Sundstrom

Gerald “Jerry” Sundstrom, 76, passed away at home surrounded by family on Sunday, August 18, 2024. A celebration of life will take place at 11 am on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Christ Community Church in Nisswa, MN. If you wish, you are invited to wear your favorite MN team apparel to honor Jerry’s great love of Minnesota Sports.

Jerry was born on June 8, 1948 to Nils and Myrtle (Springer) Sundstrom in Brainerd, Minnesota. After graduating from Pequot Lakes High School Jerry started working at the Breezy Point Golf Course, where he made his way to Golf Course Superintendent and worked until this past summer. In 1967, he was married to the love of his life Brenda Broady. Together they were busy raising their 5 children. Jerry also had a strong love for Minnesota sports teams, whether it was cheering on the Vikings on Sundays or supporting the local high school teams, he was there supporting the players. He also was involved in pool league, fantasy football and a softball player and coach for many years. Jerry will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Jerry is survived by his children Jeffrey (Becky) Sundstrom, Sharon (Brian) Roberge, Steven (Stacy) Sundstrom, Sammy (Krystal) Sundstrom, and Kevin Sundstrom; grandchildren Jeffrey Jr, Brian Jr, Sarah, Austin, Allison, Kaleb, Jakob, Rebekah, Kyrah, Mikyla, and Keagan; and his sister Doris Williams. He is preceded in death by his parents, and spouse Brenda Sundstrom.
