Georgene Wolske

Georgene Faye Wolske,age 84, died on Sunday, July 20, at the Good Samaritan Society in Pine River, Minnesota. Georgene was born on December, 31, 1929 in Janesville, WI to John and Lillian Butler. She had two sisters who preceded her in death, Eleanor Finney and Vera Jennings.


After graduating from Janesville High School Georgene enjoyed a short career as a telephone operator until she married Gene Wolske in 1954. They lived their early married life in Wisconsin and Illinois where they had eight children. She was a stay at home mom that filled her time with baking; cooking; gardening and keeping those eight children in clean clothes. In 1976 Gene and Georgene moved the family to Backus, Minnesota. Georgene was widowed in 1980. She remained in the Backus area until her death.

Mother of 8 Children: Jerry Wolske of Backus, MN, Carol (Kyle) Dudley of Hampton, GA, Lester (Annette) Wolske of Benton, IL, Linda (Jeff) Lopeman of Mahtowa, MN, Terry (Lori) Wolske of Pine River, MN, Jamie Wolske of Backus, MN, Gean Wolske of Charlotte, NC, Cindy (Tony) Jacobs of Atlanta, GA.

Grandmother to 12: Matthew and Noah Dudley, Krystle Rutherford, Leah Walden, Nikkia Lopeman, Kayla Lane, Chesney Kesty, Paige Lopeman, Bryce and Brandon Wolske, Nicholas and Alixx Jacobs.

Great-Grandmother to 5: Mason Rutherford, Kolt Walden, Aiden Lopeman, Gaven and Alec Kesty,


The service for Georgene Wolske will be presided over by Julie Swedberg on Thursday, July 26 at 1:00 at the Good Samaritan Society, 518 Jefferson Ave, Pine River, MN, 56474.
