George Wetherbee

George Wetherbee, 85, of Brainerd, died at his home Tuesday, February 28, 2012. Services will be at 12:30 PM, Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter with Father George Zeck officiating. Family and friends are welcome to gather Friday evening from 5-7 PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel. A reception will follow services on Saturday at the Brenny Funeral Chapel Reception Room. Interment will take place at Oakland Cemetery.

George was born May 23, 1926, in Brainerd, MN, the son of George W. and Vesta (Peterson) Wetherbee. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Eisel on May 12, 1951. The family made their home on a farm George operated his entire life. He liked to log, farm, and raise cattle and hogs. He was first and foremost a family man.

He will be missed by his wife, Dorothy; his children, Meg Wetherbee, of Brainerd, Glen Wetherbee, of Brainerd, Luanne (Konrad) Alexander, of Motley, Carolyn (Bruce) Schuety, of Brainerd, Linda (Roland) Krueger, of Brainerd, and George "Marty" Wetherbee, of Brainerd; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Marlys, Joyce, and Marion.
