George Washington Sr.

George E. Washington, Sr., 56, of Willmar, died Sunday, January 7, 2018 in Willmar. Funeral services for George will be Tuesday, January 16, 2018, 11 AM, at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be in South Carolina, at a later date.

George was born August 14, 1961 in Sumter, South Carolina, to Douglas and Geneva (Wheeler) Washington. He enjoyed fixing cars, fishing, and barbequing. George was a truck driver for much of this life. He liked watching football, and boxing. George was always fun-loving and always smiling and joking. He will be remembered for always helping others. His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren.

George is survived by the love of his life and mother of his children, Minda Cook; his children, Xavier Frierson, Randy Cook, Jarvarious Cook, Antonio Reed, Sr., Keon Cook, Sr., Tekyra (Charles) Watson, George, Jr. (Rachel) Washington, Quinshyra (Anthony) Grayson, and Jermaine Washington; grandchildren, Ezekiel Cook, Jarvarieona Cook, Antonieona Morgan-Cook, Keaira Jackson, Aletreona Cook, Keon Cook, Jr., Qua’veon Cook, Qua’vieona Cook, Ke’Mareon Cook, Ke’Andre Cook, Prince Cook, Princess Cook, Antonio Reed, Jr., Angelica Scheonborn, Charles Watson, III, Charvel Watson, Cha’Kyra Watson, Charvez Watson, Leinani Watson, Saniah Watson, Emma Marchand, Jayda Washington, Dominic Washington, Shakir Sallet, Jr., Quantai Sallet, Ex’Zarielle Washington, and Ja’Zarielle Washington; and his siblings, Janice Blackwell, Douglas Washington, Jr., Linda Washington, Carolyn Washington, Theresa Washington, Joseph Washington, Tammy Wiley, and Melissa Blackwell. He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Geneva Washington; and one grandchild, Sha’Toya Cook.
