George Stavish

George F. Stavish, 60, of Randall, died Thursday, October 10, 2013 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Funeral Services for George will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at St. James Catholic Church in Randall with Father Jimmy Joseph officiating.. Family and friends are invited to gather Monday evening from 5-7 PM at the Randall VFW and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday morning. Interment with Military Honors will be held at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Camp Ripley. Memorials preferred.
George was born August 13, 1953 in Little Falls son of Frank (Fritz) and Louise (Wippler) Stavish. He graduated from Little Falls High School and joined the US Army. He then attended Brainerd Community College for Welding and Drafting. He was united in marriage to Christine Boone on December 15, 1979 at St. James Catholic Church in Randall. He served for 20 years in the Army National Guard. He's been a Randall resident his entire life. He owned Stavish Welding. He enjoyed life to the fullest - spending time at bon fires with family and friends. He was a member of the Randall VFW, where he enjoyed calling Bingo, Little Falls DAV, Flensburg American Legion, MSVC Honor Guard, and Big Lake Sportsman Club. He is a retired Randall Fire Fighter. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors, playing cards, cribbage and collecting scrap metal.
George Stavish is survived by his wife, Chris; mother, Louise, of Randall; son, Johnny (Janice) Stavish, of Cushing; daughters, Lynn (Jake) Houle, of Little Falls and Shelly (Jr.) Monson, of Little Falls; granddaughters, Allison, Laura, and Megan; brothers, Dave (Jane) Stavish, of Cushing, Donald (Jude) Stavish, of Randall, Martin (Linda Dvorak) Stavish, of Randall and Jerome (Kim) Stavish, of Randall; sisters, Theresa (Bob) Hoffman, of Pierz and Malinda (Richard) Heinz, of Cushing. He was preceded in death by his father Frank (Fritz); brothers, John and Chuck; and his niece, Kasey Stavish.
