George Marden

George Marden, age 71, of Staples, passed away Wednesday October 13th, at his home in Staples, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday October 18, 2010 at 10:00AM, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples. A visitation will be held Sunday afternoon from 1 ~ 3 PM at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples. Burial will be at the Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples.

George was born on October 17, 1938, to Luke and Margaret (Cain) Marden, in Staples, MN. He attended Staples School System. He was united in marriage to Gloria Holub on January 12, 1963 in Motley. George then worked as a maintenance engineer for Lincoln Model School until his retirement. George enjoyed deer and grouse hunting, fishing, working on his hobby farm, spearing, playing horse shoes, and his grandchildren.

George is survived by his wife, Gloria; 3 sons, Lewis (Jamie) (Tonya) Marden of Bemidji, MN, Troy (Lori) Marden of Grand Junction, CO, Shawn (Melanie) Marden of Winsted, MN; 4 sisters, Joan (Vic) Kern of Wadena, MN, Dorothy Endres of Wadena, MN, Mary Lou Sigfrid of Osseo, MN, Jeanette Warner of Palm Springs, CA; brother, Bob Marden of Staples, MN; 3 grandchildren, Connor, Justin, and Jessica; 5 great grandchildren, Hayden, Livia, Ethan, Austin, and Bella. He was preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers, Connie, John, Rich, Ken and Phil; and 3 sisters, Lorraine, Micky, Betty Ann.
