George Magnan

George A. Magnan, 79, of Brainerd, MN passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, July 5, 2016. Services for George will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 2:00PM at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN with visitation one hour prior to services at the chapel with Deacon Beau Braun officiating. Interment will be at St. Mathias Cemetery in St. Mathias.

George was born on May 27, 1937 in Brainerd, MN to Edmund and Sadie (Hartman) Magnan. He married Marlene Gilson on May 25, 1957. They lived in Fort Ripley for many years before moving to Brainerd, MN. George worked his entire life in the Brainerd area. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseback riding, canoeing, and just being outdoors.

George is survived by his children, Tim (Monique), Kelly (Valerie), Randy, KimmyKay, Tony (Kandy), and Bruce; siblings, Richard, Ted (Betty), Gene, John (Mary), Rose (George) Mankowski, and Patricia Williams; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene; daughter, Melanie; son, Troy; grandson, Tyler; parents, Edmund and Sadie; and sister, Maryann. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
