George Hope

October 25, 1930 — September 1, 2011

Reverend George H. Hope, 80, of Crosslake, died Thursday, September 01, 2011 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Family and friends are welcome to gather Sunday evening, September 4, from 4-6 PM at the Crosslake Evangelical Free Church "Log Church". There will be a funeral service starting at 6:30 PM. Second Services at 1:30 PM at First Baptist Church (499 Wacouta) in St. Paul on Tuesday, September 6 with a gathering starting at 1 PM. Interment will be on Tuesday, September 6 at 11 AM, at Roselawn Cemetery (803 West Larpenteur Avenue) in Roseville.

He will be dearly missed by his wife of 58 years, Barbara Jesten Hope; children, Leanne Hope (Scott) Shook, Virginia (Laszlo) Csernohorszky-Hope, Constance Hope, and Karin Hope; brother, Thomas W. Hope (wife Mabeth and sons Vince, Steven, and Dana); and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was a pastor for more than 30 years who loved his flocks in Campbell, Tintah, Doran, Winona, Winnebago, and Battle Lake, MN, as well as Osage and Webb, IA. He was a graduate of St. Paul Marshall High School, Macalester College, and American Baptist Seminary of the West.

He taught us to care about each person God puts in our path. In loving gratitude and in firm hope of the resurrection, the Hope Family.
