Gene Robert Ingebritson, 62 of Staples, died April 20, 2014 at the Lakewood Health System Hospital, in Staples after a seven year battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, May 10 at the Sacred Heart Church in Staples. A gathering for family and friends will be held on Friday, May 9 at Sacred Heart Church in the dining hall, from 6 to 8 pm.
Gene was born June 29, 1951 in Staples to Orville and Joyce (Nurnberger) Ingebritson. He graduated in 1969 from Staples High School. He attended Staples Technical College for tool and design. Gene spent three years at his trade in Fairmont. He moved back to Staples in 1976, where he was employed at McKechnie Tooling & Engineering for many years and later was employed at Airborn in Little Falls. Gene enjoyed his life in Staples, part time farming southwest of town on his childhood family farm. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a former Troop 63 Scoutmaster of the Staples Boy Scouts. He enjoyed nature, animals and camping in the Minnesota winter with the Boy Scouts.
Gene is survived by his wife, Tes Pamela; one son, Ryan (Lindsay) of Coon Rapids; one granddaughter; one brother, Gary of Oak Grove; two nieces; seven nephews and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
