Gene Burke

Gene "Bear" Burke, age 69, of Ideal Corners, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2012. He was born in Minneapolis to Warren and Patricia Burke on July 13, 1942. Gene was raised in southeast Minneapolis and graduated from Roosevelt High School. He married Sharon Anderson in Minneapolis in 1964. Gene was employed at Processed Displays in New Hope, retiring in 2002 before moving to the Pequot Lakes area.


He enjoyed wintering in Texas, old cars, country music, shuffleboard, horseshoes, hunting, fishing and just about anything else having to do with the outdoors.


Gene is survived by his children: Jason Burke (Mindy) of Anoka, Lisa Burke (fiancé Michael McClintock) of Big Lake; brother, Dale Burke of Backus; grandchildren: Brooke Pearson of Big Lake and Maxwell Raymond Burke of Anoka.


He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Don.


Services will be 1 PM on Friday, March 30, at Kline Funeral Home, Pequot Lakes. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
