Geanie Girard

Geanie R. Girard, 39, of Staples, MN died Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Lakewood Health System Hospital in Staples, MN. Memorial service for Geanie will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, December 12, 2014 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN, with Reverend Roy Miles officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.

Geanie was born February 28, 1975 in Brainerd, MN to Jimmie and Judith (Borg) Girard. She was raised and went to school in Staples and graduated from Staples High School in 1993. Geanie worked at the Carnival for Ringling Brothers. She was united in marriage to Gerald J. Christy in 1999 and they later divorced. Geanie lived in Brainerd, Wadena, Staples, Joplin, MO and returned to Staples in 2001. She enjoyed playing pool, and fishing.

Geanie is survived by her children; Courtney Anne Marie Christy, Cody Allen Michael Christy; mother, Judy Borg of Staples, MN; grandmother, Glevda Girard of Crosby, MN; siblings, Richard Franklin LeDoux, Jr of Fargo, ND, Tillie (Kim) Zinuticz of Saukville, WI, Cindy (Don) Schmitz of Cold Spring, MN, Tammy Ward of Cabot, AK, Joy (Brian) Hedin of Maplewood, MN and Leon (Jena) Girard of Brainerd, MN. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
