Gaylord Judd

Gaylord “Juddy” Judd, 67 of Staples, MN passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the St. Cloud Hospital. A Celebration of Life for Juddy will be from 3-5PM, Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.

Gaylord was born March 10, 1950 in Anacortes, Washington to Clifford and Laurine (Schmidt) Judd. His family moved to the Staples area when he was in 7th grade. Juddy graduated from Staples High School in 1969. He attended the Staples Vo-Tech and graduated from the Machinist Program then worked in a machine shop in the Cities for a while before returning to Staples. Juddy was united in marriage to Kathie Holst on July 26, 1971 in Staples and they raised their family there. He worked at the Feed Store on the South side of town for a few years, Transco in Staples for four years cleaning out boxcars then at Woodland Container for many years until they closed. He then worked as a carpenter for 3-5 years and was working at Timber Roots in Wadena for the past 10 years. Juddy enjoyed camping, woodworking, history, nature and being outdoors. He loved to pick on people and tease them. Juddy’s bar was open every Friday night and everyone was welcome. He especially loved spending time with his kids and grandkids.

Juddy is survived by his wife, Kathie of Staples; children, Sheila (Adam) Christoffersen of Staples, Mark (Char) Judd of Motley, Todd (Erin) Judd of Staples; grandchildren, Alex, Paige, Haley, Isaac, CJ, Frankie, Reid, Kennedy; great granddaughter, Abryannah; mother, Laurine Judd of Granite Falls, MN; siblings, Lloyd Judd of Staples, Fred Judd of Alexandria, Bean Judd of Cottonwood, and Marcy Judd of Granite Falls. He was preceded in death by his father; infant brothers, Mark and David; brother, Cliff and many close friends. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
