Gaylen Hinton, 48, of Pillager, passed away Friday, September 10 at his home. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 16 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter with a dinner immediately following in Brenny's Reception Room. Friends are welcome to gather from 5-7 PM on Wednesday evening.
Gaylen is survived by his mother, Lorraine Hinton, of Baxter; 5 sisters, Delores (John) Anderley, of Ramsey, Twila (Terry) Smude, of Brainerd, Denise Geslin, of Baxter, Sally (Kevin) Borst, of Pillager, Shawna (Ed) Pace, of Pillager; 5 brothers, Lenny (Sue) Hinton, of Anoka, Aaron (Phyllis) Hinton, of Ramsey, Kurt (Del) Hinton, of Otsego, Bruce Hinton, of Minneapolis, and Greg (Lisa) Hinton of Andover; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; Leonard.
Gaylen Hinton was born on September 15, 1961 in Elk River, the son of Leonard and Lorraine (Eksten) Hinton. After attending Elk River High School, he began work at a nursery. He moved to the Brainerd Lakes Area in the mid 1990's. He was a professional carpet and floor covering installer. Gaylen enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and agate collecting. He liked to spend time with his nieces and nephews.
