Gary Shake

Gary R. Shake, age 62, of Motley, died Friday evening at his home. Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00AM in Swan Valley Lutheran Church in Leader with Mel Nefstead officiating. Burial will be in the Swan Valley Cemetery. Relatives will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 at the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples.

Gary was born on October 16th, 1942 in Minneapolis to Woodrow and Shirley Margorie (Bacon) Shake. He graduated with the Staples High School Class of 1960 and then spent more than 30 years working for defense contractors in the Twin Cities. Following his retirement he moved to the river southwest of Motley. He enjoyed fishing and the outdoors as well as following professional and amateur sports.

Gary is survived by his mother, siblings; Betty Lorber of Motley, Steve Shake of Motley, Jo Pollock of Pillager, Emily Tholl of Motley, Sherry Jacobs of Staples, Denise Bickford of Motley and Larry Shake of Motley, as well as many nieces and nephews. Services have been entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples.
