Gary Matros

Gary Matros, age 63, of Pine River, passed away quietly with his family by his side on September 30, 2015. Gary was born in Minneapolis on January 31, 1952. He moved to Pine River as a small child and remained there for most of his life. His greatest loves were his family, fishing, and deer and squirrel hunting. He spent most of his life working and playing in the outdoors.

Gary is survived by his daughter, Kristina Larson (Jarvis); grandchildren, Hayden, Alexandra, Anders; mother, Lorraine Witt; sisters: Darlene Norman (Dan), Julie Cline (Jay), Donna Crimmins, Josie Mick (Steven), Marie Taylor (Dean), Penny Sawyer (Troy); brothers: Allen Witt (Julie), Larry Witt (Renee); many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and one great-great nephew.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Matros; his dad, Marvin Witt; brother, William "Billy" Witt; grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.

Gary will be remembered and loved by many.

There will be a time to gather and remember Gary on Saturday, October 3 from 2 to 4 PM at Kline Funeral Home, Pine River, followed by burial with military honors at 4:30 PM at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Pine River.
