Gary Fietek

Gary E. Fietek, age 53, of Sebeka, died Friday morning at Merit Care South Hospital in Fargo, ND. A Memorial Service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday followed by Military Honors provided by the Brainerd American Legion Post 255 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Friends may call at the chapel beginning at 1:00 PM on Saturday.
Gary was born on December 24, 1952, in Little Falls, MN, the son of Edward and Joy (Crotteau) Fietek. He was called from this life Friday morning at the Merit Care South Hospital in Fargo, ND, attaining the age of 53 years, 2 months, and 14 days.

Gary went to school at Edison High School in Minneapolis and then enlisted in the Navy. Following his enlistment he returned to Minnesota and attended Central Lakes College studying auto and small engine repair. After working for a short time in small engine repair he was forced to retire in 1991 due to illness.

On January 12, 1976, he was united in marriage to Cynthia Maxwell in Minneapolis. To this union three children were born. Gary and Cynthia were able to share 30 years of marriage together. Among the things Gary enjoyed was spending time with his family, camping, fishing, hunting, and fantasy football.

Gary is survived by his wife Cynthia of Sebeka; children, Raymond Fietek of Gillette Wyoming, Paul Fietek of Park Rapids, Tina Fietek of Park Rapids, Jessica (Casey) George of Douglas, Wyoming, and Nicole (Brandon) Sherman of Park Rapids; 10 grandchildren, Laura, Alex, and Steven George, Josh and Matt Fietek, Ethan and Annabelle Sherman, Treana Fietek, and Nathaniel and Gary Wood; brothers and sisters, Kevin Fietek, Cindy Fietek, Sheryl Bursch, Julie Anderson, Denise Scott, and parents, Edward and Joy Fietek.
