Gary Milford “Pete” Dumpprope, age 54 of Wadena, MN, passed away April 12, 2022, at the St. Cloud Hospital. He was born to Milford and Mardell (Skaar) Dumpprope in Henning, MN, on Sept. 6, 1967.
Pete, his parents, and siblings, resided in Detroit Lakes area until 1973 when they moved to the family home East of Nimrod. He went to school in Pine River graduating in 1985. Pete attended the Food Preparations Program at Staples Tech School from 1987-1988.
Pete enjoyed spending time with his family, baking, sewing, and helping his nieces and nephews out with babysitting!! He enjoyed visiting with friends and currently was working summers as a cabin cleaner at Sandy Beach Resort. He also worked throughout the years cooking and cleaning at different cafes and resorts including The Spot Cafe, Sebeka and Menahga Restaurants, Piney Ridge Lodge, and at Wahoo Valley as well as working in the mill at Specialty Hardwoods.
Pete was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. He was helpful to anyone who asked him. He enjoyed making quilts and baking the best sweets. Pete’s greatest love was his best friend, his dog, Pookie. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his aunt, Evon.
Pete is survived by his siblings: Jan, Linda (Steve), Sandy (Jess), Darrell, Pam, and Paul (Kim); sister-in-law, Mary; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; brother, Rob; sister, Judy; brothers-in-law: Gilbert, Wesley and Bernard; nephews, Dustin Morrow and Matthew Dumpprope.
Services will be 11 AM on Saturday, April 23, at Motley Free Methodist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are with Kline Funeral Home, Pine River.
