Fritz Blome

Fritz Wilhelm Blome, 82, of Hackensack, Minnesota, succumbed to B-Cell Lymphoma at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd, Minnesota, surrounded by his family on July 10, 2017.

Fritz is survived by his wife Nannette of 53 years, sons Brian (Patricia) Blome, Paul (Carrie) Blome, and Eugene (Sheri) Blome, and daughter Teena (Cliff) Horne, as well as 16 loving grandchildren.

Originally born in Fürstenau, Germany, he met his bride from Seymour, Wisconsin, and they settled in Palatine, Illinois, to raise their family.

Fritz loved carpentry and fishing. He worked as a finish carpenter for 58 years in the Chicagoland area. His work had him travel from coast to coast running large projects, until his well-earned retirement when he and Nan moved to Hackensack 14 years ago.

Fritz was always there to help family and friends with construction projects. He also built many pieces of furniture for loved ones and friends alike. We all have pieces of his handiwork to cherish made with love by his skilled hands.

Soon, Fritz will have a private memorial service for immediate family and close friends. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.FGrit
