Fredrick Schienbein

Fredrick C. Schienbein, 89, of Brainerd, MN died on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at Carefree Living in Brainerd, MN. Services for Fred will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 2:00PM at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN with Pastor Bob Evans officiating. Visitation one hour prior to services at the chapel. Interment is at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, MN.

Fredrick was born on September 27, 1925 in Manson, IA to John and Elizabeth Schienbein. He moved with his family to Leader at an early age. Fred joined the United States Army following his honorable discharge he returned home to support his family. They farmed in Leader, Browerville, and Pillager. Fred was united into marriage to Bernice Murray on October 14, 1961 at Zion Lutheran Church in Brainerd, MN. Fred worked at Potlatch and farmed south of Brainerd. He enjoyed farming, gardening, horses, and dancing.

Fred is survived by his wife, Bernice; children, Kurt (Kelly) Schienbein of Pillager, MN; Ken (Sandy Nordstrom) Schienbein of Lino Lakes, MN, and Kelly (Nickie Blanchette) of Osakis, MN; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his pet dog, Mindy. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, John and George; sisters, Elizabeth, Theresa, Minnie, and Tillie; and one granddaughter, Janessa.
