Fuller, Frank Nesbitt, age 94, of Coon Rapids, Minnesota passed away on December 24, 2023 in Coon Rapids. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri, just months before the start of the Great Depression. As an infant, he moved with his parents Osgood and Wonder Fuller to Northeast Minneapolis where he grew up.
He was stricken with polio at the age of 17. Crutches became his legs, but he expected no sympathy and never gave up. He graduated from Edison high school. He built a cabin with beloved friends. He invented his own handicap equipment. He married on May 2, 1959 and built a family with Regina, his devoted wife. He raised two adoring children and loved three worshiping grandchildren. He worked for 46 years at Northwestern National Bank. He built a dream house in the heart of Arkansas’s Ozark mountains. In his nineties he exercised daily at the gym on his motorized chair. The gym patrons knew him by name, cheered him on, and held a birthday party for him.
At the end, his body was simply broken. All he had left was his sharp mind and humor and the use of his right arm which trembled with Parkinson's disease. He used it to take his Martini at 4:00 every day until it, too, failed him. He passed away at home in his own bed.
Frank is survived by wife Regina of 64 years, their children: Frank (Lisa) , Linda Fletcher, (Charles “Randy”), and three grandchildren: Amber and Chelsea Fuller and Will Fletcher. From little babies onward they delighted in hearing the many tales he loved to tell!!!! Frank is survived by an amazing extended family. An only child, Frank gained 13 in-laws through marriage. They became the highlight of his previously quiet life. Family functions never quit, with unending weddings, funerals and get-togethers. Frank was handsome, clever, and charming and was often the center of attention. He was treated like a king. Some even called him SIR Frank. Most special of all was his sister-in-law Marlene Warzecha who was an essential part of the Fuller household for over 60 years. She helped care for Frank through his final days.
