Francis Calvin Zetah, 85 year old resident of Motley, MN passed away November 10, 2016 at the St. Cloud Veterans Administration Hospital. Services for Francis will be at 11:00AM, Monday, November 14, 2016 at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Motley, with Father Joe Korf officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7PM, Sunday at St. Michaels Catholic Church and one hour prior to services. There will be a prayer service at 7PM. Interment with Military Honors will be at Motley Public Cemetery.
Francis was born on September 27, 1931 in Staples, MN to Sylvester (Wes) and Veronica (Vern Schmidt) Zetah. He graduated from Morris Agricultural High School. He then served in the US Air Force; Korean War veteran from 1951 to 1955. Francis married MaryAnn Konen on November 14, 1955. Francis and MaryAnn farmed their entire lives near Motley. He was a lifetime member of St. Michaels Catholic Church and the Randall VRW Post 9073. They built a 20-unit apartment building in Motley for Senior Citizens in 1979. Francis was active in politics, enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time farming. His love and commitment for his wife was evident, as MaryAnn and Francis would have celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on November 14th.
Francis is survived by his wife, MaryAnn; children, Kenneth (Connie) of Motley, MN, Diane (Russell) Anderson of Maple Wood, MN, Janet Eischeid of Motley, MN, Debra (Duane) Bender of Cambridge, MN, Linda (Alan) Card of Motley, MN, and Patricia (Michael) Simonet of Brooklyn Park, MN; 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Rose Zetah; siblings, Donald (Jane) of Brainerd, MN, Thomas (Karen) of Motley, MN, Barbara (Costas) Nichols of Fridley, MN, Rebecca Theilen of Cambridge, MN, Theresa (Jerry) Kruger of Maple Grove, MN. Orel Granby was a committed friend and farm hand that always eased Francis' mind by helping on the farm. He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Nicole Zetah and brother, Gerald. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
