Francis Ralph Moris, age 68, of rural Staples and Browerville, died unexpectedly at his home, early morning, Wednesday, November 8, 2006. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, November 11th, at 10:00 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Staples. Visitation will be Friday from 4-7 at Brenny Funeral Home in Staples. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Home of Staples. Francis SonnyMoris was born on July 8, 1938 in St. Paul, MN to the late Francis and Helen (Deering) Moris. He moved to Moran Township with his parents as a young child. He attended country school, Sacred Heart School and Staples High School graduating in 1957. After graduation, he worked in North Dakota, served in the US Army from 1961 1963, receiving an honorable discharge at the end of his service. He was united in marriage to Dorothy TootieFrederickson on August 21, 1965 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples. The couple lived and worked in the Twin Cities area before moving back to Moran Township in 1974. Francis farmed along with his father and was employed by 3M in Staples for 25 years, retiring the summer of 2000. Francis enjoyed farming, socializing with friends, fishing, helping others, listening and dancing to old time music, winters in Arizona, being with family, and playing ball with Maggie Francis is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Lana (Moris) Paulsen. Francis is survived by his wife, Dorothy; one daughter, Carrie (Arden) Beachy, Staples; two sons, David Moris, Staples and Mark Moris, Fargo, ND; one granddaughter Jaelin Beachy; little buddy Matthew Beachy; one sister, Carol (Dick) Sura, St Cloud; one brother, Larry (Linda) Moris, White Bear Lake; sisters and brothers-in-law, Cheryl (Randy) Dickey, Staples, Janice Rohl, Breezy Point, Mike (Jeanne) Holub, Cedar City, UT; and numerous nieces and nephews.
