Frances Mary Trantina was born January 16, 1922 in Fawn Lake Township, to Frank and Loretta (Smith) Trantina. She lived in Duluth from 1948 2003, where she worked as a waitress at the Hong Kong Café for more than twenty years. Following her retirement,she delivered the Duluth Budgeteer newspaper to everyone in the 13-story high-rise she lived in, becoming a friend to most of the residents. She was a member of St. Marys when she lived in Duluth. She moved to the Staples high-rise a year ago, and then to the Care Center six months ago. She loved playing Bingo and cards, and she was a faithful fan of Bob Barker and The Price Is Right.She enjoyed chocolate and hot dogs, as well as an occasional beer. She was greatly loved by her family and friends. Frances is survived by a sister, Agnes Trantina, Staples; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Trantina, Browerville; 16 nieces and nephews, and their spouses and children. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, James Trantina.
