Frances Lorentzen, age 91, of Crosslake, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at St. Joseph's Medical Center, Brainerd. She was born to George and Inez Johnson on April 14, 1922, in Omaha, Nebraska. Fran grew up in Omaha, Nebraska, and had been married to her husband, Bob, for 72 years. Fran loved to fish and was one of those people who "always had a bite." They came to Minnesota many times to fish, then in 1965, moved to the area and purchased Clamshell Beach Resort on the Whitefish chain. Fran was a "resorter" at heart and loved the business. After selling the resort, Fran continued in the resort business by managing her son's resort on Gull and then worked at the Pequot Lakes Chamber of Commerce. She was also an active member of Grace United Methodist Church.
Fran is survived by her husband, Bob; son, Bob Jr., and his wife Marianne; granddaughter, Kristin Steffen; grandson, Brian Lorentzen; great grandchildren: Jacob Lorentzen, Rebekah Lorentzen, Maggie Lorentzen, Chase Steffen, and Cameron Steffen.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Margaret.
Services will be 11 AM on Monday, September 30, at Grace United Methodist Church, Pequot Lakes. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are with Kline Funeral Home, Pequot Lakes.
