Florence Delores Kalata, age 89, of Pillager, Minnesota passed away Friday November 20, 2015 at Lake Shore Inn of Waseca, Minnesota. Funeral services will be at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, Minnesota on Saturday November 28. Visitation will be from 10 - 11AM with the funeral at 11 AM. Lunch will follow the service and internment will be at Wildwood Cemetery in Pillager, Minnesota.
Delores was born to Daniel Webster Bashore and Opal O. Jay Bashore on December 30, 1925 in McGrath, Minnesota. She attended school in McGrath, and graduated in 1944. She moved to Minneapolis and worked as a supervisor for payroll in the office of Munsingwear's Minneapolis headquarters and factory from 1944 until her retirement. She married Andrew Joseph Kalata in Minneapolis on December 31, 1947. They lived in Columbia Heights and moved to Pillager, Minnesota after both retired.
Delores is preceded in death by her husband Andrew in 2001; by parents Daniel and Opal Bashore; brothers Ira Leroy, Earl Rollin and Fred Dale Bashore; by sisters Alverta Marie Bashore, Fay Eileen Stiff, Opal Carine Bashore, twin sister Florida Doris Buck; and by niece Linda (John) Creech. She is survived by sister Cleo Sarah Peacock of Winterset, Iowa and by sisters-in-law Florence Peterson, Genevieve Woodburn, and Evelyn Bolton. She is also survived by nieces and nephews: Roland (Florella) Buck, Yvette Buck, Steve (Dawn) Buck, Bruce (Diane) Buck, Craig (Lori) Buck, Karen (Quintin) Pettigrew, Jeanne (Larry) Butler, Dick (Kay) Bashore, Daniel (Lonnie) Peacock, Rebecca (Tom) Kile, and Robert (Kitty) Peacock.
Delores delighted in time spent with family and friends and with her cherished dogs. For several years she was involved in the Pillager Senior Center trips and activities.
