Flora Ouren

Flora "Babs" Ouren, 88, of Brainerd died on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Edgewood Vista Assisted Living in Brainerd, MN. Services for Babs will be held at a later date in Harlan, IA. Interment will be held at Malvern Cemetery in Malvern, IA at a later date.

Babs was born on August 28, 1924 in Austin, MN to Charles and Flora (McDonald) Gates. She moved to Brainerd from Harlan, IA in 1980. Babs received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Home Economics from the University of Iowa. She was a real estate agent in Nisswa, MN for Positive Reality. Babs enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, playing bridge, traveling, and the lake. She was also a member of the P.E.O.(Woman's Philantropic Organization).

Babs is survived by children, Randy Ouren of Harlan, IA, Cathy Ouren of Council Bluffs, IA, and Gail LeBlanc of Baxter, MN; grandchildren, Joplyn Cannon, Jessica VanHouten, and Alison LeBlanc; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Judson and Galeta Randerson; and brother, Charles Gates.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter.
