Flora Larson, age 90, of Clarissa, MN, died early Friday morning at the Long Prairie Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 4, at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, interment will be in Roseland Cemetery near Randall. Friends may call for one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Monday.
Flora Martha Larson was born on March 1, 1916, in Plentywood, MT, the daughter of Marvin J. and Rosamond (Aldrich) Sarff. She was called from this life early Friday morning at Long Prairie, MN, attaining the age of 90 years and 30 days.
Floras family moved to the Browerville/Motley area when she was 8 years old. On June 20,1936, she was united in marriage to Harry Larson in Eagle Bend, MN. To this union 2 children, Lloyd and Alice were born. Flora and Harry were able to share 50 years of marriage before he died on June 23, 1986. Following their marriage they farmed near Browerville until retiring in 1972. At that time they moved to the Randall community. Among the things she enjoyed were sewing, gardening, and fishing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Rosamond; husband, Harry; son, Lloyd; sisters, Violine Glass and DeEdna; and brothers, Bertron, DeVere, and FonduLac Sarff. Flora is mourned in passing by her daughter, Alice (Calvin) Skalsky; 3 grandchildrem, Gail Holtz, Michael Larson, and Marlinda Alexander; 10 great grandchildren; and brothers, Gerald Sarff of Kootenai, ID, Extry Sarff of Ketchikan, AK, and Doyle Sarff of Wrangell, AK.
