After a five-year struggle with kidney failure, Faye Tweed joined her family in Heaven on Mother's Day, May 8, 2016. Faye Joan (Krumholz) Tweed was born on January 31, 1929, to Leo A. and Vernette M. Krumholz. Faye grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1946.
Faye moved to Pequot Lakes and married Luther Tweed in 1949. Faye was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was also an incredible artist, interior decorator, cook, and business woman, among many other talents. She served as the County Assessor, the Pequot Lakes City Clerk, an administrative assistant to Robert Spizzo (Breezy Point Resort), the Chair of the Pequot Lakes Park Board, and was very active in many community projects.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, infant son Michael Lew, brother Thomas Krumholz, sisters MaryLu Rekdahl, and Kaye Withrow. She is survived by her husband, Luther P. Tweed, sons Gregory Tweed and Timothy Tweed, and daughters, Vicki Palmer, Kimberly Anderson, and Joan Tweed. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Faye's life will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 21 at Kline Funeral Home, Pequot Lakes. Burial will be in Our Savior's Cemetery, Pequot Lakes, immediately following the service. The family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship, at Kline Funeral Home, Pequot Lakes, following a private family graveside service.
