Evelyn I. (Griep) Schneider, 91, of New Hope, formerly of Crosslake, died Sunday, December 11, 2005. Funeral Services for Evelyn will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at Crosslake Lutheran Church with Reverend Mark Anderson officiating. There will be a visitation one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be at Pinewood Cemetery in Crosslake. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Crosslake Lutheran Church.
Evelyn was born December 3, 1914 to Edward and Mathilda (Johnson) Griep in Zimmerman, MN. She was united in marriage to Harold Andrew Schneider on February 7, 1935 in Minneapolis, MN, where they lived for 33 years. In 1968, they moved to the Crosslake area where Evelyn continued to live for 30 years. She most recently lived in New Hope. Evelyn was a member of the Crosslake Lutheran Church and their Womens Club, Altar Guild and sewing group. She was a member of the Game and Fish Club. During her years at the nursing home, Evelyn has crocheted numerous lap quilts for the other residents.

Evelyn will be missed by her daughters, Doris Palmer, of Crosslake, MN and Marlys LaVold, of St. Louis Park, MN; her grandchildren, Debra (John) Backdahl, David (Annette) Palmer, Greg (Maxine) LaVold, Scott (Molly) LaVold, and Todd LaVold; her great-grandchildren, Mariah LaVold, Riley Palmer, and Emma Palmer; and her sister, Vivian Bomsta, of Edina, MN. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; her infant son; her brother, Clifford Griep; her sister-in-law, Irma Griep; and her brother-in-law, Willis Bomsta; and her son-in-law, Albin Palmer.
