Evelyn L. Miller, age 87, of Motley, passed away Thursday morning at the St. Cloud Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Monday at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Motley with Father Gregory Mastey officiating. Interment will be in the Motley Public Cemetery. Wake services will be from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Sunday with Rosary at 6:30 at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Motley, also friends may gather for one hour prior to Services at the Church on Monday.
Evelyn Louise Miller was born on November 12, 1921, in Cass County, MN, the daughter of Edward and Albina (Hazuka) Swecker. She graduated from Motley High School. Following her schooling she moved to California. She married James Miller and they worked at a munition depot. She worked for the U.S. Forest Service for 32 years. After retiring they moved to Yuma AZ, where she was active in many organizations, especially her church. She was very proud that she helped with numerous fund raisers to help build a new church in Foothills East Yuma. She was an avid Twins fan seldom missing a chance to watch them on TV.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Albina and her husband, James. Evelyn will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sister, Lillian Rollins and her brother, Edward Bud(Gay) Swecker of Motley; also many nieces and nephews.
