Evelyn Messerli

Evelyn Messerli, age 100, of Pine River, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2009. The oldest of three children, she was born November 12, 1908 in Chicago, IL, to Rudolph and Emma Messerli. Evelyn lived most of her life in Chicago, moving to Pequot Lakes to be near her brother, Rudi, after her sister, Rosa, passed away. She lived in Sibley Terrace for 7 years until moving to Whispering Pines Good Samaritan Center in 2000.
Evelyn is survived by her nieces and nephews: David Messerli, Lois Anderson, Eva Clay, Philip Messerli, Timothy Messerli; 6 great nieces and nephews and 11 great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Rosa Messerli, brother, Pastor Rudi Messerli, sister-in-law, Laura Messerli, niece, Elizabeth Jean Lahm, and nephew, Thomas Messerli.
Services will be 11 AM on Saturday, January 10 at Crosslake Evangelical Free Church, Crosslake, with Pastor Fred Cressman officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Irving Park Cemetery, Chicago.
