Eva Etzler

December 24, 1932 — June 3, 2018

Eva “Jeanette” Etzler, 85, of Staples, MN died Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Lakewood Health System Care Center in Staples. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00AM, Friday, June 8, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples, with Fr. Lauren Germann officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples.

Jeanette was born December 24, 1932 in Staples, MN to Frank and Lila (Marsh) Kowalski. She was raised in Staples and attended country school in Fawn Lake. On April 27, 1948, Jeanette was united in marriage to Martin Etzler at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Motley, MN. They lived in Villard Township in Staples. Jeanette worked at Morey’s in Motley and at the Mary Rondorf Home for 25 years. Martin Burt Etzler died October 21, 2012. She enjoyed baking pies, making homemade bread, cooking and gardening.

Jeanette is survived by her children, Martin (Margie) Etzler of Staples, MN, Ken Etzler of Corcoran, MN, Sherry (Timothy) Godby of Pfafftown, NC, Melvin (Cathie) Etzler of Hazen, ND, Doreen (Devon) Shafer of Hackensack, MN; 13 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; siblings, Lucille Etzler of Lake City, MN, Agnes (Ron) Carry of Cushing, MN, Frank (Shirley) Kowalski of Staples, MN, Joan (Rudy) Bjerga of Motley, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lila Kowalski; husband, Martin Etzler; and daughter-in-law, Cathy Etzler. Services have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
