Eugene (Gene) Neal Jaster, 90, of Lakeshore, MN died in the comfort of his home on Friday June 18, 2021. Services will be held on Friday July 2nd at 11:00 AM at The Lutheran Church of The Cross in Nisswa, MN. Visitation, one-hour prior to the service. Future interment at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls. Gene was born October 12,1930 in Minneapolis to Edward & Grace Jaster. He married Margaret Dygve on April 28, 1951. They lived in Southwest Minneapolis, Deerfield, IL, Bloomington & Lakeshore, MN. Gene graduated from both the University of Minnesota and Dunwoody Institute. For 32 years, he worked at Honeywell, with secondary careers at Detector Electronics and Sense-Ware USA. In 1988, they purchased a lake home in Lakeshore MN, and retired there in 1996 while wintering in FL and AZ. He enjoyed fishing, golf, house projects and gardening, but most of all, family. Gene was full of life and loved being around people sharing his joy, love and stories with everyone he could. Gene was a long-time member of the Nisswa Lions where he volunteered in many areas including the “Outreach” & “White Cane” programs. He was also a past member of the Nisswa Garden Club. In the 1960’s & 70’s he was very active in the Boy Scouts of America organization. He is a veteran of the US Army, serving in Japan during the Korean War. Gene is survived by sons, Greg (Cherie) Jaster of Brooklyn Park, MN and Jeff Jaster of Fort Myers, FL; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren and his sister Sharon. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Margaret, sisters Patricia & Dolores. Memorials preferred to the Nisswa Lions Club. Arrangements by Brenny Funeral Chapel, Baxter MN.
