Eugene Floyd Baumann, of Baxter, passed away peacefully to be with the Lord March 12, 2016 in Phoenix, AZ surrounded by his loving wife, sister and brother-in-law, and cousin. A Celebration of Gene’s Life will be held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Family and friends are invited to gather for a reception that will follow at Brenny Funeral Chapel Reception Room.
Gene was born to Floyd Edward and Ida Mae (Davidson) Baumann in New England, ND. He grew up in Reeder, ND and following his high school graduation, he continued his education and became a teacher. He taught math in McClusky, ND, and Wolf Point, MT, before ending his career in Little Falls. Following his retirement, Gene enjoyed working at Eagle’s Landing and Cragun’s Legacy Courses.
In 2007, Gene married Sandy (Wynn). They enjoyed spending the last seven winters in Arizona where they worked on their golf games and spent time with friends. Gene loved sports – he was an avid fan of baseball, especially the Yankees. He and Sandy were fond of traveling to various sporting events and were looking forward to attending the Ryder Cup this fall.
Gene was a kind man who dearly loved his wife and family. He cherished the time he could spend with his grandchildren. He will be missed.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy; son, Craig (Bobbi) Baumann; daughter, Keri (Joe) Hummerding; and four grandchildren, Veda, Zack and Essie Baumann and Jacob Hummerding. He was preceded in death by his parents.
