Ethel York

Ethel York, age 93, of Pine River, passed away May 18, 2013, at Dignity and Grace Assisted Living in Backus. She was born to William and Stella Biever on May 27, 1919, in Ree Heights, SD. Ethel's family moved to Pine River when she was a senior in high school. She married Richard York in Pine River on Christmas Day, 1941. Ethel served on the Heartland Apartments and Pine Ridge Cemetery Boards and was a member of the Pine River United Methodist Church and Pine River Legion Auxiliary.

Ethel is survived by her children: Cheryl Rowlette of Bemidji, Ginny Frush (Jim) of Crosslake, Robert York (Joan) of Bemidji; and 5 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Richard.

Memorials are preferred to the Pine River United Methodist Church. No services are planned at this time.
