Esther (Priebe) Horan,91, of Staples, Minnesota, died Saturday, May 20, at the Lakewood Care Center in Staples. The daughter of Pauline (Keonig) Priebe and Gustav Priebe, she was born on August 14, 1914 in rural Sebeka. She married Harry J. Horan on October 29, 1932 in Sebeka. She farmed with her husband in North Germany Township. In 1932 they moved to May Township, north of Motley, and farmed there until they retired and moved to Staples. After moving to Staples Esther worked at Williams Floral and later in the kitchen at Staples High School. Esther loved to work with plants and garden, she enjoyed baking and music, doing volunteer work for her church. Her great love and enjoyment however was children, She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, She is survived by one son Michael Horan, (Karen) of Bismarck, North Dakota, two daughters, Patricia, (Mrs. Charles) Blake of New Brighton, Minnesota and Lorraine Wickman of Quincy, Ill, one sister, Marie Walter of Sebeka, one sister in law, Edith Lee of Staples, ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Harry, one infant son, Clarence and two brothers. The funeral celebration of her life will be held at 2 pm, Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Robin Collins officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at Trinity. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren; Steven, Scott, and Tom Blake, Kathleen Wickman-Nelson, Cynthia, David and Brian Wickman, Jennifer and Jeffrey Horan. Memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church or the church of your choice are suggested.
