Esther J. Dailey, age 90, of Wadena, passed away at the St. Cloud Hospital on Saturday, July 28, 2012. A funeral service is planned for Wednesday, August 1st, at 2:00 PM, at the Oylen CMA Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, at the church. Burial will be held at the West Lyons Cemetery.
Esther was born on April 9, 1922, to Herman and Clara Lydia (Engen) Hanson. She married Edward Dailey on July 4, 1942. Together they raised five children on a farm in the Poplar area, later moving to Staples and Johnson, MN. They finally made Wadena their home for the past 30 years. She loved spending time with family, keeping up her home and always looked forward to spring, as she had a passion for flowers., spending much of her summer caring for them. She will be remembered as a mother, who had a heart full of love and touched the lives of everyone who new her.
Esther is survived by her children, Roger (Debbie) Dailey of Wadena, Janice (Gene) Lenk of Browerville, and Phyllis Dailey of Deer Creek; 10 grandchildren, James, Brenda, Roxane, Ginger, Kelly, Chad, Terri, Chris, Tara, and Jeff Dailey; 12 great-grandchildren; Christopher, Ashley, Lacey, Makenna, Caleb, Jessah, Hannah, Gavin, Katelyn, Carter, Billy, and Nicholas; and 1 great, great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; children, James Dailey and Beverly Sarkela; son-in-law, Ernie Sarkela; daughter-in-law, Connie Dailey; her parents; four sisters, Inga Flansburg, Ida Pickar, Alma Peterson, and Helen Geiselhart; and two infant brothers.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples.
