Ernie Kouba

Ervin E. "Ernie" Kouba passed away October 16, 2016 in St. Cloud, MN. He was born in Hutchinson, MN to Anthony and Sophia Kouba. Ernie had been a full-time resident of the VA Medical Center in St. Cloud since 2009.

Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Sophia; wife, Lorraine; his eldest son, Gene; two brothers, Leslie and Harry Kouba; and very special friend, Delphia Elling.

Surviving children include his son, Gary of Pine River, MN; daughter, Connie of Plano, TX; additional immediate family include his daughter-in-law, Barbara; grandson, Nathan of Braham, MN; granddaughter, Sara of Apple Valley, MN; sister-in-law, Marlys Swenson of Pine River, MN; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ernie was an avid bowler and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. His job was his life and he was well known and respected by all.

Many people remember him as the owner of the Pine River Locker Plant and Kouba's Tackle and Souvenirs. He was a hard worker, a man of few words, and taught a strong work ethic and responsibilities to his children by the example he led.

Ernie's service will be at Pequot Lakes Baptist Church in Pequot Lakes on Monday, October 24 at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Pine River. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are with Kline Funeral Home, Pequot Lakes.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to the VA Medical Center of St. Cloud, MN.
