Ernest White

Ernest White, 97, of Pequot Lakes, died Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Senior Class Care. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM, Wednesday, March 6 at St. Alice Catholic Church in Pequot Lakes with Father George Zeck and Deacon Mike Knuth officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will follow at Pequot Lakes Cemetery.

Ernest was born May 9, 1915 in South Omaha, NE, the son of Ernest and Mary (Schimonitz) White. He was united in marriage to Alfreda Krings on June 18, 1941 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Omaha, NE. He was a Pullman for the railroad. Ernest served three terms with the US Navy. He owned and operated a floral shop in St. Paul before retiring as a security guard for Mutual Life. Ernest and Alfreda moved to Pequot Lakes in 1985. He was very dedicated to his church and to the ProLife campaign. Ernest enjoyed fames, food, bowling, the outdoors, birds and flowers.

Ernest is survived by his sister, Doris McClenahan, of Grant, NE; brother, Kenneth (Maxie) White, of Philippines; niece, Kathy Paris, of Fort Collins, CO; and his adopted family, Deacon Mike and Lori Knuth, of Pequot Lakes. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alfreda; his parents; and sister, Laurene.
